Neva K. Miklos, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother

ELDRED, Pa. — Neva K. Miklos, 91, formerly of Main Street, passed
away peacefully on Saturday (March 21, 2015) at the Lakeview Senior Care
and Living Center, Smethport.
Neva Kathryn was born as a twin sister with Eva Kathleen on Jan. 15,
1924 in Byrndale, Elk County. Both her mother Agnes Brown and twin
sister passed away in 1924 at childbirth. Although she had been born
into a family of four brothers, Kermit, Quinton, Charles and Lawrence,
she was immediately adopted by her loving Aunt Elsie and Uncle William
Brown into a family of five sisters, Edna, Ruby, Laura, Olive and Louise
and their three brothers, Alvin, Fred and Ralph Brown, who resided in
the Emporium area.
Neva was the last surviving member of her family.
On Jan. 7, 1944, in Buffalo, N.Y., she married Andrew W. Miklos, who
passed away on Sept. 18, 2009. In 1946, they located in Eldred, where
she converted to Catholicism and became a devoted member of the St.
Raphael’s Church, where she was a longtime member of the Altar Rosary
Society.
In the 1950’s, she had been employed by the Viko Furniture Co. in
Eldred, but retired as an employee of the Corning Glass Works in
Bradford after 27 years as a quality control inspector and a proud
member of the American Flint Glass Workers Union.
Neva loved reading, especially Danielle Steel novels and history books,
and enjoyed Big Band-era music.
Surviving are a son, Andrew Miklos Jr. of Elizabeth; and a daughter,
Joy (Charles) Ammerman of Smethport; three grandchildren, Shelley
Ammerman of Kalamazoo, Mich., Shannon (Mark Edgreen) Ammerman of
Perrysburg and Justin (Cheryl) Miklos of Elizabeth; and three
great-grandchildren, Mercedes Edgreen of Huntington Beach, Calif., and
Hailey Miklos and Emily Miklos, both of Elizabeth.
Friends may call at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred, on Thursday from 2
to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on
Friday (March 27, 2015) at 11 a.m. at St. Raphael’s Church in Eldred,
with the Rev. Thomas Brown as celebrant. Burial will follow in St.
Raphael’s Cemetery in Eldred. The Rosary will be recited on Thursday
at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests memorials be made to a charity of the donor’s
choice.

Dear Joy, Andy and Families,
I was so sorry to hear of your loss of our beloved Aunt Neva. I have very fond memories of her, Aunt Edna & Grandma and Grandpa at the Farm and our reunions. Dad has been sick & they can not get down. We will keep you all in our prayers at this sad time for you all. The email is my work email. I check it often.
Love and Peace to you all,
Laurie L. Loncosky

Andy, We were so sorry to hear about your Mother's passing and only a few days before Mom's. Eldred was certainly lucky to have Neva in the community and also, Andy, thank you so much for remembering us with your card.
