Eldred- Wilmer P. “Mac” McVinney, 79, of Edson Street passed away at home on August 15, 2023.
Born on May 12, 1944, he was the son of Charles and Beatrice Rebideau McVinney. On September 25, 1992, in Bennington, VT., he married Coleen McVinney who survives.
Mac was a student of Bennington, Vermont schools and then enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was formerly a supervisor for James River Paper out of Adams, MA.
He enjoyed woodworking, and loved black labs. Especially, their dog Jack who would walk beside his scooter with him.
Surviving including his wife is son, Patrick McVinney of Bradford; three stepsons, Luke Hartzell of Eldred, Cory (Cassie) Hartzell of Arkansas; and Roger (Robin) Hartzell of Eldred; one daughter Kerri Ann McVinney (Gary Bays, Jr) of Eldred; several grand and great grandchildren and a special cousin, Ray Rebideau (Gerri Leahy) of Woodford, Vermont.
He was preceded in death by one son Paul McVinney who was a twin brother to Patrick; two daughters, Kathleen McVinney and Amanda McVinney and one sister, Betty Penn.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery, Bath, N.Y.
