William T. Holland Jr.

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. --- William T. 'Bill'; 'Pop pop', Holland Jr., 79, of South Puritan Street was peacefully called home by his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 30, 2022 at UPMC Cole after a brief battle with Covid. 

Born on July 17, 1943, he was the son of William T. And Louise (Ruth) Holland Sr. 

Bill was the world's finest sanitation engineer, being self employed as the owner/operator of Holland Trucking Co. and Twin Tier Disposal of Portville, NY. He was also the owner/operator of Shinglehouse Metals Recycling Plant. 

Being a member of First Baptist Church of Shinglehouse, he held the positions of Deacon and head usher for many years. He was faithful in his daily Bible devotions. He adored his huge family and church family immensely. 

Starting as early as the age of 10, Bill was an avid numismatist. He devoted many hours inspecting coins for unique additions or lacking items for his extensive collection. He shared this passion with his children and grandchildren. Another of his hobbies, was collecting license plates from each of the United States. 

Bill cherished his John Deere mowers and took great pleasure mowing his lawn. Weekly game nights at Gemini's house were greatly anticipated and enjoyed. He was quite the card shark. His favorite television show was Gunsmoke. He created many gifts for family with his woodworking talents and puzzle framing. 

Surviving are his life partner of 59 years, Carol Ann (Szczepanski) Holland and their pet dog Zeke, four daughters: Suzanne (Gary) Young of Portville, NY., Gemini (William) Cousins, Wendy (Gary Bernard) Holland, Billie Jo (Patrick) Howard of Shinglehouse; two sisters: Sally Walker of Columbus, OH., Polly (Cil) Holland of Upper Black Eddy, PA., and brother Thomas ( Gwynne) Holland of Upper Black Eddy, PA., 17 grandchildren: Joel (Erin) Young, Jillian (Richard Green) Young, Joshua (Lacey Peterson) Young, Joelle (Ryan Chizewick), Linsey Jimenez, Vogue (Aaron) Bryant, Ryan Estrada, Orion (Kristy) Bernard, Alexander Bernard, Trevor, Spencer, Ryder, Quintyn, Parker, Conner, Taylor ( Brayden) Meachami and Gunner Bean; 14 great grandchildren: Hailey (Camontae) Gayton, Hannah, Peyton, Bella, Lucious, Demetrious, Julious Young, Trinity and Nataeh Richardson, Genesis, Abel, Galilee, Ezra Bryant and Layken Meacham.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jordan W. Howard.
