Theresa “Terri” King Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend
Eldred- Theresa L. “Terri” King, 59, of King St., passed away Monday (April 14th, 2014) at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born June 13th, 1954 in Olean, she was a daughter of William and Donna Fitzsimmons Luce. On October 18th, 1975 in the Eldred United Methodist Church, she married Wayne King, who survives.
Terri was a 1972 graduate of Otto-Eldred High School. She was a longtime resident of Eldred except for 4 years while travelling with her husband who was serving in the U.S. Army.
Mrs. King operated a children’s day care center in her home for 14 years and later was employed by Hamlin Bank and Trust Company in Eldred as a teller until her retirement due to illness.
Terri loved her family and was known in the community for her infectious smile and kind hearted conversation at the bank. She valued true friendships and held them close. A special thanks to the many friends who have loved her throughout the years. She enjoyed spending time in her flower garden, cooking and making candy, reading and especially being with her grandchildren, who called her “Dahdah”.
Surviving in addition to her husband are 4 daughters and 8 grandchildren, Tracie (Brian) Barber of Boardman, Ohio, and their children Dominick, Christopher and Anthony; Tammie (Arian Gross) DeYoe of Cuba, NY and her children Michelle and Addysin; Brandi (Cody Mason) Coscia of Eldred and her son Kolby; Jami Gariepy of Eldred and her children Christian and Gracie. Also surviving is a sister, Kelli Luce of Eldred.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bryan King in 1979; her mother in 2010 and her father in 2011; her brother, Ricky Luce in 1996; and her uncle, Michael Fitzsimmons in 1986.
Friends may call Thursday (April 17th, 2014) from 4 to 8 pm at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday with the Rev. Jim Kazimer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Raphael’s Cemetery, Eldred.
The family requests memorials be made to the Helping Hand Fund in Memory of Terri King, care of Hamlin Bank, Eldred.
