Rosanna Connolly
Eldred- Rosanna M. “Rose” Connolly, 73, of West Eldred Rd., passed away Tuesday (December 15th, 2015) at the Bradford Regional Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born August 27th, 1942 in Shinglehouse, she was a daughter of Walter F. and Jennie Shaffer Miles. On September 12th, 1987 in Eldred, she married Joseph G. Connolly, who survives.
Rose attended Coudersport area schools. She spent most of her career employed as a CNA at Coudersport Hospital and in their long-term care unit.
Mrs. Connolly was a member of the Eldred American Legion Post 887 Auxiliary. She was an avid fundraiser for Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, as well as participating in the Adopt-a-Soldier Program and being an advocate for Veteran’s.
She loved playing and singing Blue Grass music, in which she would play stand up bass. She loved animals and enjoyed knitting and gardening.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Mark (Rosemary)Hathaway and Luther (Crystal) Hathaway; six daughters, Monalisa (Randy) Miles, Marcella (Harris) Steele, Marlene Yeaples, Meldia Justice, Marcia (Rich) Green, and Angel (Kevin Knight) Dahkle; sixteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren, four brothers, Kenneth (Judy) Miles, Walter D. (Lauren) Miles, Michael J. Miles, and Stephan (Darlene) Miles; and one sister, Adah Meacham; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Delbert, Robert and Larry Miles; as well as three sisters, Virginia Wenner, Constance Tompkins and Phyllis Miles.
Friends may call Sunday (December 20th, 2015) at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred, from 11 am to 1 pm, at which time funeral services will be held with the Rev. Jim Kazimer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Adopt A Soldier Program, the Wounded Warrior Project or the Eldred Ambulance Fund.
