Dr. Robert Krall
ELDRED — Dr. Robert P. Krall, M.D., 96, of Elm Street, passed away on Sunday (May 10, 2015) at the Lakeview Senior Care and Living Center in Smethport.
Born March 20, 1919, in Kleinfeltersville, he was a son of the late Harvey A. and Mayme Krumbine Krall. On March 3, 1945, in Falmouth, Mass., he married Anna Alexander, who had trained at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, where they met. She passed away on March 25. On March 3, they had celebrated 70 years of marriage.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served as a captain with the U.S. Army Air Corps. Dr. Krall was a 1936 graduate of Mercer High School, a 1940 graduate of Allegheny College and a 1944 graduate of the Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.
In 1947 in Marienville, he opened a family medical practice, which he ran until 1949. He then opened a family medical practice in Eldred, which he operated from 1949 until 1971. He later served from 1971 until 1985 in industrial medicine for Dresser Rand, Alcas Cutlery and at the American Olean Tile Co. During this period, he also served as a surgical assistant for surgeons at the Olean (N.Y.) Medical Group. During his years in medical practice, he served as an active member of the medical staffs at Olean General Hospital and at St. Francis, retiring in 1985.
Dr. Krall was a member of the Eldred United Methodist Church, where he served on various committees. For many years he was a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society and the Medical Society of the State of New York, along with the McKean County and Cattaraugus County Medical Societies, the American Medical Society and  American Academy of Family Physicians.
He enjoyed woodworking, classical music and opera and model railroading. For many years, he had a boat on Chautauqua Lake and enjoyed fishing there.
Surviving are two sons, James (Susan) Krall of Derrick City and Dr. Robert A. (Nancy) Krall of Olean; three grandchildren, Richard (Erin) Krall of Sayre, Julie (Eric) Allenbaugh of Coudersport and CPO William (Shianne Fegler) Krall U.S.N. of Norfolk, Va.; six great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Daniel Allenbaugh, Alexander and Lauren Krall and James C. Krall and Phillip H. Krall; a brother, Alfred (Mimi) Krall of Sarasota, Fla.; a niece, Mary (Nigel) Pilling; and a nephew, Alfred H. (Kristina Dimova) Krall.  
Dr. Krall was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emily S. Krall on March 18, 2007.
Friends may call at the Frame Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Eldred United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ernie Perry officiating. Burial will follow in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Eldred United Methodist Church; Cystic Fibrosis Society; Olean General Hospital; or the Eldred Ambulance Fund.
