Robert L. Kontz Sr., beloved husband, father and grandfather
ELDRED, Pa. — Robert L. Kontz Sr., 83, of Main Street, passed away
Monday (Feb. 16, 2015) at his residence following a long illness.
He was born Dec. 20, 1931 in Williamsport.
On May 9, 1981, in Coudersport, he married Janet L. Loveless, who
survives. He had attended Williamsport area schools and had resided in
Eldred since 1996. Robert was a veteran of the Korean War having served
with the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the Eldred American Legion Post No. 887 and the
Galeton V.F.W. Post. Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are four sons, Donald Kontz of
Reynoldsville, Robert (Sharon) Kontz Jr. of Eldred, Eugene Kontz of
Hazlehurst and Charles Kontz of Emlenton; four daughters, Roberta
Loveless of Port Allegany, Patricia Falk of Port Allegany, Anne Free of
Olean, N.Y. and Sandra (Michael) Majot of Millport; four stepsons,
Wilbur (Holly) Furman Jr. of Bradford, Joseph (Val) Furman of Bradford,
Robert Furman of Port Allegany and Michael (Marie) Furman of Rixford;
one stepdaughter, Katrina (Jeff) Evans of Port Allegany; and many
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Kontz in 1980.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 21, 2015) at the
Frame Funeral Home in Eldred, at which time the funeral service will be
held with the Rev. Jay Tennies officiating. Burial will follow in the
Grimes Cemetery in Port Allegany.
The family would like to invite everyone to a gathering at the Eldred
Township Fire Hall immediately following the funeral.
