BRASELTON, Ga. — Robert F. Crown, 80, formerly of Littletown, Oswayo, Pa., and Eldred, Pa., passed away on Saturday (Aug. 22, 2015) at the North East Georgia Medical Center following a short illness.
Born on June 13, 1935, in Gaithersburg, Md., he was a son of Forrest F. and Ruby Briggs Crown. On Feb. 14, 2005, in the Lighthouse Community Free Methodist Church in Prentisvale, Pa., he married Luzviminda B. Basit, who survives.
Bob was a 1953 graduate of Gaithersburg High School and afterward served with the Army National Guard for four years before moving to Littletown, where he owned and operated a dairy and beef farm from 1960 until 1975. He then moved to Oswayo, where he also had a beef farm from 1975 until 1980, when he moved to Canfield Hollow, Eldred, where he enjoyed a hobby farm, raising beef cows and cutting hay. Robert had also been employed at the Viko Furniture Co. in Eldred from 1975 until 1980.
He was a past member of the Lighthouse Community Free Methodist Church and his hobbies included farming, hunting, lake fishing and gardening.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Billy (Connie) Crown of Coudersport, Pa., and Leann (Don) Alford of Hanover; three grandchildren, Melony (Al) Derksen (and their children, Taylor and Tyler), Charles Dillon Crown and Evelyn Delanie Crown; and a sister, Catherine Stinson of Mount Airy, Md.
Bob was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred, where the funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Pete Tremblay officiating. Burial will follow in Lamphier Cemetery in Eldred.
