Richard E. "Rich" Crowe   Loving Husband, Father, Papa, and Brother
ELDRED, Pa. — Richard E. “Rich” Crowe, 55, of Prentisvale Road,
passed away Thursday (April 21, 2016) at the Bradford Regional Medical
Center, following a long, courageous battle with kidney cancer.
Born April 14, 1961, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Thomas D. Crowe
Sr. On Nov. 21, 1986, in Eldred, he married Laura Ann Green, who
survives.
Rich was a 1979 graduate of Otto-Eldred High School. He had resided in
Prentisvale for almost 30 years.
Mr. Crowe was employed as a vehicle mechanic for several garages in the
area, including Wally’s Tire Sales in Roulette for 18 years and along
with his brother, Chuck, at Crowe’s Auto in Eldred. He had also worked
in the local oil fields and later as a truck driver supervisor for
Northern Tier Inc. in Aiken for 11 years, prior to retiring in 2015 due
to his health.
He was a lifetime member of the Eldred Township Fire Department and
served as first assistant chief for several years, he was also a past
member of the Seneca Highlands Snowmobile Club.
Rich loved hunting and fishing, following NASCAR, camping, as well as
riding snowmobiles and four-wheelers and playing cards. He really loved
spending time with his granddaughter, Remy, and his family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Crystal (Justin)
McDivitt of Duke Center and Amanda (Kevin Robbins) Crowe of Olean; a
granddaughter, Remy McDivitt; three brothers, Thomas (Sue) Crowe of
Kane, David (Tina) Crowe of Eldred and Charles Crowe of Eldred; as well
as two sisters, Cindy (Bob) Crowe of Smethport and Delann Crowe of
Eldred.
He was preceded in death by his father in 2004; a brother, Dale Meacham
Jr. in 2012; and two sisters, Kimberly Crowe in 1966 and Mary Powell in
2006.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the
family.
