Phillip Haun Sr.

PRENTISVALE — Phillip M. Haun Sr., 59, of Prentisvale Road, passed away at home  unexpectedly on Thursday (Sept. 9, 2021). 

Born Oct. 10, 1961, in Baltimore, Md., he was a son of Ralph and Patricia Long Haun.   

Phillip had attended Baltimore area schools and had resided in Maryland prior to moving to Pennsylvania in 1990.  

Mr. Haun became disabled at the age of 27, however he was very active volunteering at the Eldred Borough Fire Department, where he was a longtime member and held many positions including president, vice president and safety officer. He also helped start and was active with the Explorers Post # 14  junior fire fighters club. He was a great cook and a hell-of-a baker and was well known throughout the area for his cookies. 

Surviving are two sons, Phillip Haun Jr. of Eldred, and Jonathan Haun in Ohio, and one daughter, Tiffany Lunder of St. Marys; six grandchildren, Maryanne and Phillip M. III  and Addison Haun, Elynn and Elayne Haun, and Leah Lunder; and one brother, Richard Haun in Maryland. 

A celebration of life will be held on Monday (Sept. 13th, 2021) at the Eldred Borough Fire Department from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
