SMETHPORT — Pauline L. Brown, 86, formerly of Digel Hollow Road, passed away Tuesday (Aug. 30, 2016) at Roswell Park in Buffalo, N.Y.
Born Aug. 30, 1930 in Olean, N.Y., she was a daughter of Ansel and Kathleen Laing Patterson. On June 7, 1947 in Smethport, she married Robert L. Brown, who passed away on March 6, 2012.
Pauline attended Smethport area schools. Along with her husband she had resided on East Valley Road, before moving to Digel Hollow. They also enjoyed wintering in DeFuniak, Fla., from 1991 to 1998. She spent her life as a homemaker.
She was a 50-year member of the Phoenix Chapter No. 15, Order of the Eastern Star of Smethport, as well as the Smethport Senior Center and the Elderberries.
Mrs. Brown enjoyed crocheting and coloring adult coloring books. She was an avid teddy bear collector.
Surviving are five sons, Fred A. (Linda) Brown of Eldred, Thomas (Bonnie) Brown of Farmers Valley, Charles (Lynn) Brown of Smethport, Richard Brown of Farmers Valley and Robert E. (Cheri) Brown of Duke Center; one daughter, Susan (Martin) Hagg of Smethport; as well as 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, three stepgreat-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cora Biel of Warren and Madelyn (Wilfred) Walker of Warren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a brother.
Friends may call Saturday at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred, from 10 a.m. to noon, at which time funeral services will be held with the Rev. Rob Hernan officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Farmers Valley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
