Michael Milliron Obituary

Michael Milliron
Michael “Jim” Milliron, 74, of Shadynook Circle, Cyclone, passed away Sunday (June 26, 2016) at the Olean General Hospital in Olean, N.Y., following a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 6, 1941, in Kane, he was a son of Lawrence L. and Laura L. Fowler Milliron, who preceded him in death.
Jim, as he was known by his family, was a 1959 graduate of Bradford Area High School and also graduated from DeVry Technical School in Chicago, Ill. Following his education he was drafted by the military serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. After an honorable discharge from the military, he was employed by Bell Telephone Company. He began his career with Bell in the Clarion office as a switchman and retired as a supervisor with 30 years of service. After retirement he was employed by Adelphia Communications in Coudersport until his health started to decline.
In earlier years Jim enjoyed the outdoors and appreciated the beauty of nature. He found pleasure in camping trips with his family and Little League games with his sons. Jim had a love of music, played the guitar and had a mellow singing voice. He enjoyed many happy musical hours with his friend Bob Hartle. In his later years he became interested in NASCAR racing and was an avid Steelers fan.
Surviving are two sons, Jim (Barbi) Milliron of Fisher and Douglas (Lisa) Milliron of Frogtown. In addition to his sons, he also has four grandchildren: Frances, Aron, Riley and Kaley. There are three brothers, Larry (Esther) Milliron of McCormick, S.C.; Gary (Debbie) Milliron of Gifford and Phil Milliron of Bingham; and one sister, Carol Clark of Smethport. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, and his former spouse Bernadette “Bernie” Milliron of Frogtown.
Jim was a kind and caring man who never spoke ill of anyone. He will be missed by family and friends.
Friends may call Friday at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred from 2 to 4 p.m., at which time a memorial service will be held with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating.
