Merle D. Gustin Jr.

Eldred-  Merle D. Gustin Jr., 84, of McCrea Brook Rd., went to be with the Lord on Monday (October 15th, 2018) at  Lakeview Senior Care and Nursing in Smethport.
Born August 18th, 1934 in Elkland, Pa he was a son of Merle and Glenola Avery Gustin Sr.  On June 25th, 1955 in the McCrea Brook Wesleyan Church, he married Dawn Goodman, who survives.
Mr. Gustin was a 1953 graduate of Roulette High School.  Early in his career he had worked at Clark Bros. in Bradford as well as part-time at Gas Field Services.  He then went on to be employed by North Penn Gas Co., which later became PPL Gas and Utilities for over 40 years prior to retiring in 1997 as a supervisor.  After retiring, he went on to work for Plants and Goodwin Inc. in Ceres, Pa until 2011.
Merle attended the McCrea Brook Wesleyan Church and was a member of the Eldred Conservation Club.  He Enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, he is survived by three sons, Jeffrey (Bonnie) Gustin of Eldred, Gary (Cathy) Gustin of Eldred and Timothy (Valerie) Gustin of Wellsville; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Barb) Gustin of Roulette as well as his daughter-in-law, Sue Gustin of Eldred.
He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Steven M. Gustin on December 5th, 2014.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred.  Funeral Services will be held Thursday (October 17th, 2018) at 11:00 am at the McCrea Brook Wesleyan Church in Eldred with the Rev. Dale Argot, pastor, officiating.  Burial will follow in Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred.
