Melvin James

Melvin James, 73, formerly of the Bradford area, passed away on June 14, 2015  in Columbia.  He was born on February 1, 1942 in Bradford, a son of Leslie and Esther Miller James.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam war, having served with the U.S. Army for six years.  He later resided in Lantana, Fl. for thirty-five years prior to moving to Columbia.
In addition to his wife , Diane, of forty-nine years, he is survived by two sons, Kevin (Jennifer) James and David James, two grandchildren, Tiffani (Kyle) Davis and Adam (Brittany) Taylor and a great granddaughter, Kyleigh Marie Taylor, and a sister, Marletta Wiland of Vestal, N.Y. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Friday (June 26, 2015) at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at which time a memorial service will be held with the Rev. Gary Sheesley, officiating.  Burial will follow at the Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred.
