Mary Baldoni beloved mother and grandma
Eldred -- Mary P. Baldoni, 100, formerly of Elm Street, died Sunday (April 22nd, 2018) following a brief illness.
Born February 22, 1918 in Garbutt, NY, she was the daughter of Joseph and Santa Lattuca. On June 15, 1940 she married Patsy Baldoni, who predeceased her in 1995.
Mrs. Baldoni, a long-time resident of Eldred, owned and operated Mary’s Beauty Salon in Eldred for many years. She was well known for her outgoing personality, generous smile, willingness to listen and insightful advice. She enjoyed music and dancing and her hobbies were pie-making, needlework and crafts. She was always ready to try new activities, a behavior passed on to those close to her. Later in life she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a deep love of God and the Catholic Church and was a member of St. Raphael’s Parish.
Surviving are her three children, Julian (Gertrude) Baldoni, Paula (Rob) Looker, John (Maureen) Baldoni, an older sister Rose Sherman, a younger brother Manuel Lattuca, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and John Lattuca.
The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care Mrs. Baldoni received at Eden Heights Assisted Living in Olean, NY, who made her later years enjoyable.
At the request of the family there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Raphael’s Church in Eldred on Wednesday at 11:00 am with the Rev Thomas E. Brown, pastor of St. Raphael’s Church, Eldred, as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Raphael’s Cemetery, Eldred.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St Raphael’s Altar Rosary Bereavement Committee, or the Rev. Harland Davis Council # 3728 of the Knights of Columbus.
