Marilyn K. Geer beloved mother
Eldred- Marilyn K. Geer, 68, of E. Water St., Smethport, formerly of Eldred, passed away Saturday (August 10th, 2013) at the Olean General Hospital of complications of a bee sting.
Born January 17th, 1945 in Olean she was a daughter of Lewis and Virginia Butler Shaw Sr.
Marilyn attended Salamanca High School and later completed a course in Home Health Care. She had resided at West Eldred Rd. until she moved to Smethport in 2010.
She was employed as a waitress in the Olean and Salamanca area. Later she worked in Home Health Care in McKean County for many years until she retired due to health reasons.
Marilyn had attended the Derrick City Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loved gardening and being outdoors, as well as spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving is one son, Leo Geer of Brunswick, Georgia; 2 grandchildren, Patrick and Colin Geer; a brother, Lewis “Butch” Shaw Jr. of Eldred; 3 sisters, Sharon (Don) Coast of Portville, Judy Tierson of Eldred and Mary Scott of Portville; an adoptive brother, Donald (Anna) Branham of Hillsboro, New Hampshire; 5 adoptive sisters, Deborah (Mark) Bish of Punxsutawney, PA, Robin Foster of Hillsboro, Carol (Bill) Hewitt of Olean, Tina (Frank) Moy of Hillsboro and Denise (Scott) Brown of Duke Center; her stepmother, Aylene Shaw of Olean; a stepfather, George Branham of Portville. She is also survived by her friend and companion for over thirty years, Steve Smith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Shaw in 2008; and her mother, Virginia Butler Branham in 2008.
Friends may call Tuesday (August 13th, 2013) at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred from 4 to 6 pm at which time a memorial service will be held with the Rev. Lynn Gatz officiating. Burial will follow in Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Derrick City Seventh-day Adventist Church.
