Lynne Monroe
ELDRED — Lynne M. Monroe, 53, of Route 446, passed away Thursday (July 3, 2014) at Olean (N.Y.) General Hospital following a long illness.
Born May 24, 1961, in Bradford, she was a daughter of William L. and Marjorie Graham Monroe.
Lynne attended Bradford High School, and she had resided in Bradford and Rixford before moving to Eldred.
She enjoyed NASCAR and dirt track racing, as well as horses, animals, reading, bingo and socializing with her friends. She contributed to the ASPCA and Wildlife Defenders and sponsored a child through Children’s International.
Surviving is one brother, David (Julie) Monroe of Middletown, Va.; an uncle, Richard (Dixie) Monroe of Bolivar, N.Y.; a nephew, David Monroe of Farmers Valley; one niece, Alexis (John) Barrett of Bradford; two great-nephews, Conner Monroe and Xander Miskovish; one great-niece, Jordan Barrett; and a special friend, Joe Green, with whom she resided and was a loving companion for the past 18 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Monroe in 1958.
Friends may call at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred on Tuesday 4 to 6 p.m., at which time a memorial service will be held with the Rev. Gary Sheesley officiating. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Bolivar.
