Duke Center, Pa. Beloved daughter, sister and aunt
Lynda J. Wasson, 54,formerly of Duke Center, passed away on Friday August 3, 2018 at the Bradford Manor following a long illness.
Born November 14, 1964 in Bradford, she was a daughter of Paul Lynn and Marylin J. Hembd Wasson. She was a 1983 graduate of Otto Eldred High School and later graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, Bradford in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science. She was a lifetime resident of Duke Center.
She had been employed as an assistant cook at the Boy Scout Camp in Bordell, Pa. and later at Scout Haven Camp in Pioneer, NY. She was a member of the Duke Center United Methodist Church, where she was a founding member of the Young Women’s Group and also a past member of the choir and was the church librarian. She loved reading, especially books on World War II and English History. She enjoyed traveling with her family.
Lynda is survived by her mother of Duke Center, two sisters, Dr. Tracy (David) Schrems of Bennington, NY; and Jerry-Ann (Dr. John) Simora of Chautauqua, NY; and a niece and nephews, Justin, Jacob, Josephine and Jonas Simora and Cody Schrems. She is also survived by two uncles and two aunts. She was preceded in death by her father Paul in 2003, her maternal grandparents Clarence and Vera Wasson, and her paternal grandparents Leo and Doris Hembd.
Friends may call on Saturday August 11th at the Duke Center United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at which time the funeral service will be held with Pastor Beth Rosler officiating.
