Leonard F. Bennett beloved husband, father, and grandfather
Rixford- Leonard F. Bennett, 77, of Looker Mountain Trail, passed away Friday (April 26th, 2013) at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born February 23rd, 1936 in Olean he was a son of Albert and Dorothy Dibble Bennett. In 1968 at the People’s Methodist Church in Salamanca, he married Jean Scott who survives.
Leonard was a 1954 graduate of Otto High School. He later graduated from Bryant and Stratton Business College in Buffalo. He was a lifelong resident of Rixford.
Mr. Bennett was employed by Quaker State for 35 and a half years retiring as office manager. After retirement he worked for Zona Lumber Co. in Eldred for several years.
Leonard attended the Eldred United Methodist Church. Along with his wife Jean, he ran the Otto-Eldred food mission for a few years. He loved his grandchildren and he loved farming.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Steven L. Bennett of Rixford and Scott A. (Kathryn) Bennett of Canandaigua, NY; three grandchildren, Max, Sadie and Olivia Bennett; a brother, Thomas D. (Deborah) Bennett of Rixford; three sisters, Marjorie Childs of Bolivar, Joyce Bennett of Rixford and Norma (John) Johnson of Portville; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday (April 29th, 2013) at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred from 5 to 7 pm and Tuesday from 11 am to 1 pm, at which time funeral services will be held with the Rev. Ron Emery officiating. Burial will follow in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McKean County VNA and Hospice, 20 School St. Bradford, PA 16701.
