Joyce A. (Baker) Hughes

Joyce A. Hughes, 62, passed away on May 11, 2019 at the Hamot Medical Center in Erie following a short illness.

Born on November 24, 1956 in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Russell and Margaret Furman Baker.  On July 7, 1989 in Elkton, MD she married David E. Hughes, who survives.  She graduated from Coudersport High School and had resided in Eldred since 1994.   Joyce had been employed at the Sena Kean Manor in Smethport before becoming disabled and had also been a home caregiver in the area.

She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and doing cross-stitch.

Surviving  in addition to her husband are three sons, Tony Hurst of Clarksburg, WV, Larry Hurst of Eldred and David M. (Alison) Hughes of Smethport, two grandsons, Leland Hughes and Elijah Stuckey, one brother, Keith (Shelley) Baker of Cleveland, OH and a sister, Sue Jones of Hanover, Pa.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Baker.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday (May 18, 2019) at 3:00 P.M.at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred and friends may call there from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service.  Rev Allan Young and Rev. Les Leet will officiate.

The family would like to invite everyone to the residence of David M. Hughes immediately following the service.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Library of the donor’s choice.
