Jonathan C. “Jon” Gebauer
Eldred- Jonathan C. “Jon” Gebauer, 28, of Central St., passed away Monday (February 8th, 2016) at the Olean General Hospital.
Born January 23rd, 1988 in Peterborough, New Hampshire, he was a son of Leon Charles and Tonya Albney Gebauer.
Jonathan was a 2007 graduate of Otto-Eldred High School and had attended DeVry University prior to joining the Military. He had been employed by Ram Forest Products in Shinglehouse.
Mr. Gebauer served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the War in Afghanistan. He served with the 101 Division “Wolfpack” and received many decorations, including a Purple Heart.
Jonathan really loved his daughter, and loved spending time with her and his niece Miranda. He was an avid weightlifter and enjoyed collecting all types of swords.
Surviving in addition to his mother of Eldred, and his father of Hillsboro, New Hampshire; are one daughter, Eowyn Lorelei-Iris Gebauer, at home; paternal grandmother, Sandra McClure of Hillsboro; one sister, Jessica Gebauer of Eldred; a niece, Miranda Gebauer; and a brother, Brandon (Lenah) Williams of Eldred; eight maternal aunts and uncles, David (Becky) Albney of Eldred, Jim (Pam) Albney of Richmond, VA, Donna Westbrooks of Bradford, Cathy (Ralph) Iennaco of Virginia, Toni Lynn (Ray) Blose of Smethport, Tammy DeFilippo of Bradford, Robert (Amy) Albney of Rixford and Terri (Jeff) Woodruff of Lewis Run; seven paternal aunts and uncles, Anna (Don) Branham, Roxanne Gebauer, Lynette (Dennis) Gordon, Jamie Sherwin, Sandy Gebauer Field and Cindy Gage, all of New Hampshire, and Tim (Melinda) Gebauer of Smethport; a very special aunt, Judy Tierson; as well as many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Tony Albney in 2000 and Ethel Hendricks Albney in 1994; and two cousins, Brenton Alan Benson and Vincent Thomas Benson.
Friends may call Friday (February 12th, 2016) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 am with the Rev. Bruce Ireland, pastor of the Country Chapel Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eldred WWII Museum.
