Jean L. “Teny” Coast beloved mother, grandmother and sister
Prentisvale- Jean L. “Teny” Coast, 83, of Duke Center passed away Wednesday August 24, 2016 at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo after a brief illness.
Born July 23, 1933 in Duke Center she was a daughter of Wade and Elva (Fitzpatrick) Causer. Jean married her husband of 60 years J. Wesley “Wes” Coast on September 19, 1954 in the Duke Center Evangelical United Brethren Church. “Wes” preceded her in death on December 16, 2014, together they had three children, Valerie (Paul) Ambroselli of Olean, NY, Wesley Coast (Timothy Lee) of Duke Center and Beth (Erik) Coletti also of Duke Center. Jean is survived by three grandchildren; Sara, Clarice and Dominic as well as two great-grandsons; Landon and Isaiah. She is also survived by a sister Lucille Witherow of Youngsville, PA a brother Dale (Marilyn) Causer of Bradford, PA and her sister-in-law Patricia Causer of Bradford.
In addition to her parents and husband Jean was preceded in death by a brother Norman “Bud” Causer. Jean loved her little dog and faithful companion “Roni” who was at her side when she fell ill.
Jean had worked at the Otto Eldred schools as a “lunch lady”, she was an active member of the Duke Center United Methodist Church and The Eldred Senior Center where she enjoyed her friendships and bingo.
Friends are invited to call at the Duke Center United Methodist Church on Monday August 29, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held Tuesday August 30, 2016 in the church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mary DuVall, pastor of the church, and Rev. Gary Sheesley officiating. Burial will follow in Duke Center Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Jean may be made to the Duke Center United Methodist Church, 26 Oil Valley Road, Duke Center, PA 16729 or the Eldred Senior Center, 169 Main Street, Eldred, PA 16731.
