James H. “J” Jewart

Eldred—James H. “J” Jewart, 57, of Park Ave., passed away on Friday (September 9th, 2022) at the Buffalo General hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born on December 18, 1964 he was the son of Dale D. and Marie E. Carey Jewart.  

James was a life-long resident of Eldred and a 1982 graduate of Otto Eldred High School.  He then went on to serve in the US Navy, and later attended BOCES.  “J” previously worked at Dresser Rand for 32 years, before having to retire due to illness.

He loved walking and spending time with his dog Rex.  In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nascar and the Oakland Raiders.

Surviving including his father Dale Jewart of Park Ave., is two sisters; Jamie (Brent) Schoonover of Shinglehouse, Tracy (Marty) Marrone of Eldred, one niece; Jessica Schoonover of Cleveland, OH., one nephew; Dylan Schoonover of Shinglehouse, and a great nephew Lucas Schoonover. 

He was preceded in death by his mother Marie E. Jewart on January 18, 2022.

Private services and burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Eldred will be held at the convenience of the family.  A celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Post #887 of Eldred on September 24th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
