Jack A. Darrin beloved father, stepfather, brother and uncle

PRENTISVALE, Pa. — Jack A. Darrin, 82, of Prentisvale Road Eldred,
passed away Sunday (May 18th, 2014) at Veteran’s Hospital in Buffalo.
Born March 8, 1932, in Ceres, Pa., he was a son of David Travis and
Lena Campbell Darrin.
Jack had attended the Eldred Township School. He had resided in
Missouri and Michigan before moving back to Eldred. Mr. Darrin had
served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant in Germany and Australia during
the Korean War. Prior to his military service, he was employed as a
logger with his father. He was then employed as a security guard for
Pinkerton’s at Dresser Manufacturing in Bradford, Pa. for many years
prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Eldred Senior Center and
had attended the Lighthouse Community Free Methodist Church. Jack
enjoyed family genealogy and dancing.
Surviving are two sons, Jack Darrin Jr. of Eldred and Alan (Cathy)
Darrin of Bradford; a daughter, Janice (Rick) Stanton of Portville,
N.Y.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters,
Donna Tsepelis and Dawn (Lou) Calebrese, both of Bradford. He is also
survived by several stepchildren and step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Howard, Hilbert, Richard and
Nelson Darrin; three sisters, Virginia Warden, his twin, June Walker,
and Georgia Lee Darrin.
Friends may call Thursday at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred from 11
a.m. to 1 p.m., at which time a memorial service will be held with the
Rev. Glenn Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill
Cemetery, Eldred. Military honors will be presented after the funeral.
