Gary Eaton Obituary

Gary L. Eaton, 59, formerly of Eldred and Lewis Run, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014, at the Bradford Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with lymphoma.  
Born February 19, 1955, in Olean, NY, he was the son of Fred R. and Eva I. Freeman Eaton.  
Gary was a 1974 graduate of Friendship, NY, Central High School and later attended BOCES in Belmont, NY, and graduated with a degree in auto mechanics.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the U.S. Navy from 1974-1981 where he was a cook on surface ships and submarines.  He had graduated from the Sub School in New London, Conn.  He later was employed at the Olean Tile Plant.
He was a lifetime member of the Eldred Township Volunteer Fire Department.  He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.  Gary really appreciated the staff of Sena Kean Manor for their professional attention.
He is survived by a daughter Jennifer (David) Dilley of Kane, three grandsons, Austin Eaton of Kane, and Ryan Cuoco and Andrew Cuoco of Enfield, Conn.  He is also survived by his stepmother, June Ferguson Eaton of Friendship, NY.  He is also survived by two brothers, Chester Eaton of Ceres, and Fred (Diane) Eaton of Smethport and two sisters, Elda “Cookie” (Milford) Green of Eldred, and Lynn (Doug) Church of Enfield, Conn.  He had two stepbrothers, Joseph Elliott of Alabama, and Sonny Elliott of Rochester, NY.  and two stepsisters, Penny Elliott of Alabama, and Linda Stuck of Friendship, NY.  He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
  He was predeceased by his father in 1987 and his mother in 1965.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Frame Funeral Home where memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend Daniel Mong officiating.  Burial will follow in Lamphier Cemetery in Eldred.  
The family requests memorials be made to the Eldred Township Fire Department, or the Sena Kean Manor of Smethport.  
The Veteran’s Flag will be presented by his cousin Patrick “Pepper” Eaton of Lantz Corners.
