F. Joseph Wolcott     Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather
Eldred- F. Joseph Wolcott, 94, of South Main St., passed away Thursday (April 18th, 2013) at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born May 11th, 1918 in Eldred he was a son of Floyd and Mabel Splain Wolcott.  On June 22nd, 1946 at St. Raphael’s Church in Eldred, he married Margaret Cawley, who survives.
Joe graduated from Eldred High School; he then graduated from Peddie Preparatory School and later graduated from St Bonaventure University in 1941.  He was a lifelong resident of Eldred.
Mr. Wolcott was employed in the family business, Wolcott Brothers Feed Mill in Eldred.  He later accepted a position as a teacher at Eldred High School then Otto-Eldred High School, where he was employed for over 40 years before retiring in 1980.
Joe was a lifelong member of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Eldred where he was also a member of the parish council.  He was a founding member of the Harlan j. Davis Council of the Knights of Columbus.   He was a member of the St. Bonaventure Golf Club, and a founding member of their Geritol League. He was a lifelong member of the PSEA and a member of the Otto-Eldred Retired Teachers Association.
He was instrumental in starting the Eldred Little League program, as well as coaching for many years. He also coached boys basketball at Eldred High School.  He also coached the Potter-McKean state champion little league all-stars to the little league World Series.  He was a lifelong St. Bonaventure basketball and women’s soccer fan.  He was a Boston Red Sox fan and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Jeffrey (Jane) Wolcott of Olean’ Jerome (Carol) Wolcott of Allison Park, PA; a loving niece who is also his god-daughter, Becky Cawley Beno; three grandchildren, Katie, Joseph and Sarah Wolcott; he was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Floyd Joseph “Jody” Wolcott; A brother Edwin Wolcott; and infant sister, Catherine Wolcott and a sister, Alberta Cross.
Friends may call Saturday (April 20th, 2013) at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred from 10 am to 12 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 pm at the St. Raphael Church in Eldred with the Rev. Thomas E. Brown officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
