PORT ALLEGANY —  Elijah James “EJ” Niklas, 23, of Mill Street, formerly of Pierce Brook, passed away Tuesday (May 3, 2016).
Born Nov. 12, 1992, in St. Marys, a son of James Armour Marsh and Judi Dunkle Niklas.
EJ was a 2011 graduate of Smethport High School. He was a lifelong resident of Pierce Brook.  He had been employed as an equipment operator for Duffy’s Inc. in East Smethport since high school.
EJ really enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and riding ATVs. He also enjoyed socializing with his friends.
Surviving are his parents, Cory and Judi VanGorder of Pierce Brook; his significant other with whom he resided, Jessica Baer; a daughter, Tessa Lynne Baer; his grandfather, Bill Dunkle of Kane; his grandmother, Carol VanGorder of Pierce Brook; four brothers, Jake Niklas of Kane, Cory VanGorder Jr. and Jordan VanGorder of Pierce Brook and Keith Myers of Smethport; six uncles, Bill (Nora) Dunkle, Tom Dunkle, Alex Marsh, Roger VanGorder and Mark VanGorder, and Kenny (Ellen) Bush; three aunts, Cari (Bill) Gross, Tayna (Perry) Tanner, and Melissa (Ron) Galentine; as well as many cousins.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents Keith and Martha Marsh, Judith Dunkle, and Mark VanGorder.
Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Wally Mapes officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
