Earl J. Robson, loving husband, father, grandfather and
great-grandfather
CORYVILLE, Pa. — Earl J. Robson, 79, of Champlin Hill Road passed
away on Saturday (April 25, 2015) at Erie County Medical Center,
Buffalo, N.Y.
Born Nov. 14, 1935, in Olean, N.Y., he was a son of Robert J. and Hazel
A. Frisbee Robson. On June 30, 1962, in the Evangelical United Brethren
Church in Coryville, he married Freda Mae Commino, who survives.
Earl was a 1954 graduate of Otto High School in Duke Center and later
attended Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, N.Y.
He has been a resident of Coryville since 1964. Earl was a veteran of
the Korean War, having served with the U.S. Army in airplane repair from
1955 until 1958 and afterwards served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1958
to 1963. He had been employed at the National Powder Co. in Eldred as a
truck driver for several years. For the next 30 years, he worked as a
truck driver for Owens-Illinois in Bradford, which later became
Georgia-Pacific, retiring in 1994.
As a child, he attended the Eldred Free Methodist Church and later the
Evangelical United Brethren Church in Coryville, where he was baptized
on July 18, 1976. After it closed, he attended the Coryville Church of
Faith. Most recently, he attended the Lighthouse Community Free
Methodist Church in Prentisvale. He was a member of the Teamsters Local
Union. Earl enjoyed spending time on the family farm on the West Eldred
Road, working on engines or anything mechanical, and racing go-karts.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Hazen (Marylou)
Robson of South Wales, N.Y., Scott (Tammy) Robson of Coryville and
Benjamin (Amber) Robson of Pflugerville, Texas; two daughters, Heather
(Edd Deitz) Bhe of West Eldred and Martha Robson of West Eldred; 14
grandchildren, Gavin, Cameron, Patti, Elizabeth, Brandy, Tony, Megan,
Jamie, Mandi, Amber, Ashley, MaryElizabeth, James and Silas; 10
great-grandchildren, Trent, Morgan, Abby, Alivia, Jordan, Sarah, Emalee,
Logan, Lincoln and Aaron; a sister, Jean (Dr. Richard) Darling of North
Chili, N.Y.; and a sister-in-law, Esther Robson of Gerry, N.Y.
Earl was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. John Robson on May 28,
2014.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Frame
Funeral Home, Eldred. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.
Wednesday (April 29, 2015) at the funeral home, with the Rev. Beth
Rossler officiating.
The family wishes that memorials be made to the church of the donor’s
choice.
