Earl A. “Skip” Robinson, 85, of the Indian Creek Road, passed away on Friday (August 3, 2018) at his residence following an apparent heart attack.
Born on February 21, 1933 in Olean, N.Y., he was the son of Earl and Mary B. Miller Robinson. On June 23, 1956 in the Bethany Lutheran Church in Olean he married Beverly A. Alexis, who survives. He attended the Otto High School in Duke Center and had resided in Indian Creek since 1961. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served as a Corporal with the U.S. Marine Corps. Skip had been employed at the Portville Agway for many years and later at Mastel Ford in Olean until his retirement.
He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Portville where he had been on the church council. Along with his wife and family he had enjoyed camping at Sunny Hill in Richburg for many years. Skip was an avid lifelong hunter, fisherman, horseshoe thrower and bowler, and New York Yankee fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, David (Jinny) Robinson of Rew, two daughters, Karen (Bill) Snow of Rixford and Sharon (Kevin) Hepfer of Indian Creek, six grandchildren, Billy (Jennifer) Snow, Jennifer (J.R.) Smith, Melissa (Sam) Maley, Brittany (TJ) Seal, Jason (Dawn) DuPont and Cody Robinson and eight great grandchildren, a step-brother, Howard “Jack” (Danilla) Vaughn of Canton, Michigan. Skip was preceded in death by his parents, Earl “Pete” Robinson in 1976 and Mary B. Miller Robinson Vaughn in1988, his step-father, Harold J. Vaughn in 1982, a son, Jeffrey Robinson in 1957, a granddaughter, Amanda Hepfer in 1986 and a great grandson, Devon Dupont in 2006.
Friends may call on Monday at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friends may also call on Tuesday (August 7, 2018) at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Portville from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Lee Megneson, officiating. Burial will follow in the McKean Memorial Park in Lafayette, Pa.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Bethel Lutheran Church or to the McKean Memorial Park.
