Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather
Eldred- Drexel V. "Drex" Moses, 84, of Park Ave, passed away on Saturday (December 1st, 2018) at the Olean General Hospital while surrounded by his family and following a short illness.
Born on August 28, 1934, in Olean, NY he was a son of James C. and Anna Eaton Moses. On June 20th, 1953 he married Connie Maxine Kemp, who preceded him in death on August 1st, 1996. He then went on to marry Virginia “Ginny” Brown-DeGroff on November 13th, 1999, who survives.
Drex was a lifelong resident of Eldred, and owned and operated his own school bus line for Otto Eldred School District. He was also an auto mechanic, and former Eldred Policeman and Constable. Drex also enjoyed camping, and has been camping at Sunny Hill Campground, Bolivar NY for almost 50 years. He was also a member of the Eldred Borough Fire Department and a former member of the Olean Elks Club.
Surviving in addition to his wife, is a son Michael (Diane) Moses of Allegany, NY. Two step daughters Lynette DeGroff-Case and Karen (Victor) DeGroff-Vena of Portville, NY; seven grand children, Jamie (Erin) Moses of Farmington, CT, Patrick (Julie Barber) Moses of Williamsville, Christopher (Jill Krepps) Moses of Philadelphia, Victor and Lucas Vena, Samuel and Elijah Korsa all of Portville, NY; and five great grand children, James, Ella, Andrew, Liam, and Evelyn Moses; as well as his mother in law and Father in law, Charles (Barbara) Brown, of Weston Mills, NY, two brothers Tom (Mary Lou) Moses and Harley (Terry) Moses, both of Hamburg; and one sister, Margie (Leigh) Moses of the Villages,Fla; as well as his brother in law, Ronald Kemp of Conway, South Carolina.
In addition to his first wife Connie he was preceded in death by an infant son, Stephan A. Moses in 1964; and a brother, Deacon Robert Moses in 2017.
Friends may call on Monday (December 3rd, 2018) from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 noon with the Rev. Bryan Garrett of the Olean Community Church, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Raphael’s Cemetery, Eldred.
