Dorothy Mae Dutchess, loving mother, grandmother and sister

RIXFORD, Pa. — Dorothy Mae Dutchess, 89, formerly of Rixford, passed
away on Sunday (Feb. 8, 2015) at the Bradford Ecumenical Home, with her
family around her bedside.
Born Nov. 12, 1925, she was a daughter of James and Ruby Davenport
Chase. On March 21, 1978, in Maryland, she married James Dutchess, who
preceded her in death.
She was a 1943 graduate of Otto High School in Duke Center, and had
resided in the Jamestown and Frewsburg, N.Y., areas before moving to
Rixford. Most of her life she was a homemaker but for several years had
been employed in home health care for Accredited Care Inc. in the
Jamestown area.
She loved doing crafts and crossword puzzles, playing bingo and working
in her garden.
Surviving are one son, Daniel (Carol) Dunkle of Bradford; two
daughters, Bonnie (Tad) Hartzell of Rixford and Donna (Gary) Hinchman
Mealy of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; nine grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandsons. Dorothy is also
survived by six brothers, James (Lillian) Chase of Ashville, N.Y.,
Calvin Chase of Fort Myers, Fla., Bud (Betty) Chase of San Diego,
Theodore (Diane) Chase of Ashville, Gary (Sherry) Chase of Busti, N.Y.,
and Ronald (Sharon) Chase of Lakewood, N.Y.; two sisters, Sandra Nelson
of Port Allegany and Carol (Bob) Wolfe of Warren; and several nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Holland in 2009; and a
great-grandson, Christopher McLaughlin in 1994.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 11, 2015) at
the First Church of God, Main Street, Eldred, at which time the funeral
service will be held with the Rev. James Kazimer, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
