Donna H. (Harris) Walker

Donna H. Walker, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother
RIXFORD, Pa. — Donna H. Walker, 95, formerly of Looker Mountain Trail
in Rixford, passed away Saturday (Aug. 27, 2016) at the Rouse Estates in
Youngsville.
Born Nov. 26, 1920, in Sharon Center, Donna was a daughter of Neil and
Edith Swift Harris. On Aug. 3, 1941, at the residence of her parents in
Rixford, she married L. Lavern Walker, who passed away Oct. 12, 2011.
Donna was a 1938 graduate of Otto High School at age 16. She then went
on to graduate from the Jamestown Business School.
She was employed for most of her career as the secretary to the
superintendent at Otto-Eldred High School. Prior to that, she had kept
the books for the Harris and Walker Oil Co. of Rixford.
Mrs. Walker was a member of the Duke Center United Methodist Church and
the Red Hat Ladies, as well as the Belle’s and Beau’s Square Dance
Club and the Duke Center-Rixford  Bowling League.
Donna and Vern loved traveling, camping, fishing and snowmobiling. She
enjoyed cooking and specialized in desserts and was famous for her pies.
Donna was excellent at many forms of seam stressing and loved music as
well as playing the organ. She especially loved to spend time with her
children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Bradley (Toni Yeske) Walker of Mindoro, Wis.,
and Terry (Gail) Walker of Pittsfield; six grandchildren, Jessa
(Charles) Barbour of Pasadena, Md., Tonya (Brad) Cummings of Berea, Ky.,
Kelly (John) Daniels of Duke Center, Kerry (Stephanie) Littlefield of
Pine City, N.Y., Jamie (Donna) Walker of Youngsville and Korey (Pam)
Walker of Eldred PA; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and
nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter,
Sharon Littlefield; son-in-law, Dale Littlefield; her granddaughter,
Kimberly Walker; and two sisters, Dorla Walker and Dorothy Schwab.
Friends may call from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 6, 2016) for
visitation at the Duke Center United Methodist Church. Following there
will be a service at 11:30 a.m., with the Rev. Mary DuVall, pastor,
officiating. Burial will follow in Rixford Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Otto-Eldred Scholarship Fund;
Friends of the Rouse Estate, Youngsville; or a charity of the donor’s
choice.
