Prentisvale, Pa. “Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather”
Donald A. Robbins , 57, of Prentisvale Road, passed away at his residence on June 27, 2015 following a three year illness.
Born August 10, 1957 in Olean he was a son of Donald and Irene Persing Robbins. On May 12, 1984 in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Ambridge, Pa. he married Andrea Glucki, who survives.
Don was a 1975 graduate of Otto-Eldred High School and later received his Bacholer of Science Degree in Chemistry from St. Bonaventure University. He later earned his master’s degree in Chemistry from SUNY, Fredonia, N.Y. He was employed by the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford for 33 years where he taught chemistry and was the Chemical Safety Officer. He was a lifetime resident of Prentisvale and was a member of the Rixford Evangelical Church, the American Chemical Society, the National Environmental Training Association and a lifetime member of the Eldred Conservation Club. Don was a past member of Boy Scout Troop 413 of Duke Center where he earned the honor of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trap shooting and especially spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife of thirty-one years are one son, Donnie Robbins of Manchester, N.H. and a daughter, Christine (Mitch) Snyder of Raymond, N.H., a granddaughter, Kara Snyder, and a brother, Clair (Rose) Robbins of Prentisvale.
Friends may call on Tuesday at the Frame Funeral Home from 2-4 P.M. and from 6-8 P.M. where funeral services will be held on Wednesday (July 1, 2015) with the Rev. Jeffrey Canter(Don’s Brother-In-Law) pastor of the Harrisville, Pa. United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred.
