Donald J. “DJ” Calhoun
Eldred- Donald J. “DJ” Calhoun, 28, of Canfield Hollow, passed away Tuesday (August 6th, 2013) following a brief illness.
Born October 23rd, 1984 in Bradford, he was a son of Donald and Janet Bickford Calhoun.
DJ was a 2003 graduate of Otto Eldred High School and was a lifetime resident of Eldred. He had been employed by Olean Wholesale for over 10 years.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Eldred Post 887, and a past member of the Otto Township Fire Department. He enjoyed playing football in high school; as well as playing pool, hunting, NASCAR and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Surviving is his mother, Janet Kelley of Eldred; Maternal grandmother, Mary Bickford of Smethport; a half-brother, Mike Hook of Smethport; and a half-sister, Patty (Joe) Robbins of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Calhoun in 2008; his maternal grandfather, Benjamin “Dean” Bickford in 1997; paternal grandfather, Gus Irwin in 1994; and his paternal grandmother, Gladys Calhoun in 2001; as well as his favorite uncle, David Calhoun in 2012.
There will be no visitation, a memorial service will be held Friday at 5 pm at the Eldred American Legion Post 887 with the Rev. Max Simms officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Farmers Valley.
