David "Hippie" Martz

Eldred—David G. “Hippie” Martz, 64, of McCrea Brook Rd., passed away Monday (October 6th, 2025) at the Olean General Hospital. Born October 30th, 1960 in Port Allegany, he was a son of William and Nancy (Bell) Martz. He was a life long resident of the area. David went to Otto-Eldred Schools and was employed at Stead Lumber in Portville and then he was later employed as a mechanic and a bus driver for Stucks Garage in Rixford for many years prior to retirement. Hippie loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed working on small engines and tinkering in the garage. He loved being a papa to his two granddaughters more than anything. Surviving are a daughter, Brittany (Cody) Stone of Rixford; one son, Brandon (Darien Nellis) Martz of Eldred, as well as two granddaughters, Ryon Elizabeth Stone and Atleigh Grace Martz, two siblings, Melanie (William) Sampson of South Carolina and a twin sister Deborah (Rob) Stuck of Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Pamela Palmer in 2025
