Daniel MacKenzie
ELDRED — Daniel N. “Rip” MacKenzie, 92, of Edson Street, passed away on Friday (Dec. 17, 2021) at home, surrounded by his family.
Born April 11th, 1929 he was a son of Alonzo Henry and Pearl Bells MacKenzie.
Mr. MacKenzie had attended Farmers Valley school and had been a lifelong resident of McKean County.
Daniel spent his career as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver and had been employed by many local companies, including Quaker State and the Hungiville Logging Company, and had worked until physically unable to anymore.
He had been a member of the Lafayette Fire Department and he knew and loved many people, but his two best friends were Ken Cordner and Bill Frutiger.
Surviving are three sons, Wayne Francis MacKenzie of Coudersport, Daniel Clifford MacKenzie of Bradford and Donald Norman (Lora) MacKenzie of Muncy; three daughters, Coleen (Mac) Hartzell McVinney of Eldred, Pamela (Kirk) Thomas of Port Allegany and Kara MacKenzie of Bradford; eleven grandchildren, Lucas, Cory, Roger, Kerri, Travis, Jessica, Kari, Karen, Jacob, Evan and Bradley; as well as 20 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Lou Greene of Smethport, as well as many well loved nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a granddaughter, Becky Jo, and a great-granddaughter, Madison Em; as well as three sisters, Gussie, Donna, and Julia Rose.
No services are to be held at this time, a memorial service in Daniel’s honor will be held in the spring at a date and time to be announced.
