Rixford- Dana R. “Ty” Goldsmith of School Street passed away on Friday (March 05, 2021) at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on January 05, 1940, Ty attended Otto High School, Duke Center PA and was previously employed by Case Cutlery, Bradford from 1962-2002.
Ty married Virginia (Schenfield) Goldsmith on November 11, 2017 at the Duke Center United Methodist Church.
Surviving is beloved nephew Tyrone Mott who he helped to raise as well as a step son; Robert (Tammy) Francis, two step daughters; Michelle Lange and Kara McIlroy; one brother Gary (Al) Goldsmith and one sister Roberta “Burt” (Tony) Laktash.
Ty was a great craftsman and loved doing woodwork, he also owned and operated Goldsmith Gun Shop for 18 years in Duke Center, PA.
He was an avid trapshooter and beloved coach of the O-E BirdDawgs youth team. Ty played a vital role in establishing a new venue for The Eldred Conservation Club and was awarded life time membership for his dedication and service. He also loved to hunt rabbits and deer as well as play chess and euchre.
Ty was preceded in death by parents Lawrence and Jane Goldsmith; former wife, Paricia Mott Goldsmith; and brother, David Goldsmith.
A celebration of Life will be held at a future date and time that will be announced in a future edition.
