ELDRED — Connie M. Schneider, 88, of Canfield Hollow Road passed away Monday (June 16, 2025) at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born Feb. 20, 1937, in Bradford, she was a daughter of Jess and Ruth G. Heidrich McDivitt. On May 10, 1958, in Eldred, PA, she married Eli L. Schneider, who preceded her in death July 19, 2024.

Connie was a graduate of Eldred High School Class of 1955. She spent her career in the sewing department at Ethan Allen Furniture in Eldred, while she was employed later in life as a van driver for Todd Buses in Eldred.

Connie was a bird lover, collected angels, enjoyed gardening and doing jigsaw puzzles, and doing word searches. She was the owner and operator of Grandma’s Taxi Service, and she babysat her children, the neighbor’s children and the town’s children. 

Surviving are five children, Joan M. Van Camp, Dianne E. (Timothy) Sheffer, John L. Schneider, Boyd E. (Tina) Schneider and Donald L. (Michelle) Schneider; 19 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four siblings, Grace McDivitt, Iona Davis, Cora (Dick) Darrin and Elmer and Nancy McDivitt.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by eight siblings, Willis, Joseph, Robert, Otto, Ivan, June Ruth, Jerry and Onalee Deiterle; and one grandchild, Ruth Ann VanCamp.

A memorial service will be held at a future date and time to be announced.

Memorial contributions may be made to UPMC Hospice Care of Coudersport, the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
