Charlene F. Heffner, loving wife, mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother

ELDRED, Pa. — Charlene F. Heffner, 66, passed away at her residence
on Tuesday (Jan. 13, 2015) following a brief illness.
Born Feb. 24, 1948, in Bradford, she was a daughter of Emery and Doris
Marble Wolford. On Sept. 16, 1967, in the Duke Center United Methodist
Church she married James E. Heffner, who survives.
Charlene was a 1966 graduate of the Otto-Eldred High School and later
graduated from business college in St. Cloud, Minn. In 1980, she
completed her requirements at the Continental School of Beauty in Olean,
N.Y. A longtime resident of North Main Street, she had been employed as
a certified nurse’s assistant in the area for many years.
She was a member of the First Church of God in Eldred, where she was
active with the Prayer Chain, Vacation Bible School, and had helped with
dinners. Charlene was a member of the Ladies of the Moose Lodge 460 of
Port Allegany, a past member of bowling leagues in Olean, and years ago
had been an emergency medical technician with the Otto Township
Ambulance. She loved camping and spending time with her grandchildren,
playing bingo, crocheting, knitting and bowling.
Surviving in addition to her husband are one son, James (Dawn Windsor)
Heffner of Eldred; two daughters, Kristina Johnston of Duke Center and
Kimberly (Joe) Windsor of Turtlepoint; 13 grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren; two brothers, Timothy (Joyce) Moore of Bradford and
Douglas (Teresa) Wolford of Booker, Texas; and one sister, Martha
(Dennis) Cawley of Custer City. Charlene is also survived by several
stepbrothers and stepsisters.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Pettit; and a nephew,
Wayne “Joe” Moore.
Friends may call at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred, today (Thursday,
Jan. 15, 2015) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be
held on Friday (Jan. 16, 2015) at the First Church of God, Main Street,
Eldred, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. James Kazimer officiating.
