Carol E. Silvis
Duke Center- Carol E. Silvis, 86, of Main St., passed away Monday (December 16th, 2013) at her home unexpectedly following a brief illness.
Born October 1st, 1927 in Duke Center she was a daughter of Foster O. and Helen Edna Flick Everitt. On March 9th, 1947 in the Eldred Methodist Church she married Richard Silvis, who survives.
Carol was a 1944 graduate of Eldred High School. She had resided in Scotch Hill, Pa for several years before moving back to Duke Center in 1936.
Mrs. Silvis was employed by Eastman Kodak in Rochester and Viko Furniture Company in Eldred and later, for many years, at the Otto-Eldred High School cafeteria.
She was a member of the Duke Center United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Surviving in addition to her husband are 2 sons, Gary (Coleen) Silvis of Duke Center and David Silvis of Duke Center; 2 daughters, Barbara (Randy) Evans of Emerald Isle, North Carolina and Cheryl (Jim) Eaton of Tavares, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Jan Silvis of Sandy Lake, Pa; as well as 7 grandchildren and 17great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence Silvis in 2012; and 2 sisters, Lois Moses in 2001 and Dorothy Regis in 2008.
Friends may call Wednesday (December 18th, 2013) at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 11 am at the Duke Center United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Sheesley officiating. Burial will follow in Duke Center Cemetery.
