Carol R. Isaman  ‘loving wife, mother, and grandmother’

ELDRED, Pa. — Carol R. Isaman, 81, of Smith Road, passed away Tuesday
(June 28th, 2016), at home surrounded by her family, following a lengthy
illness.
Born Feb. 1, 1935, in Avoca, N.Y., she was a daughter of Ray A. and
Belle Smith Holmes. On Feb. 24, 1951, she married Bill Isaman, who
survives.
Carol attended Eldred Township Elementary and Otto High Schools. She
graduated from the St. Francis School of Nursing in Olean in 1974, as an
licensed practical nurse. She was employed for 23 years in Olean as an
licensed practical nurse at St Francis and Olean General Hospitals,
before retiring in 1997.
Carol and Bill lived in Savona, N.Y., from 1955 to 1962, before moving
back to the Eldred area and owning and operating Isaman’s Grocery from
1962 to 1967. Following that, they moved to Meadville and together
operated the Odd Fellow’s Children’s Home from 1967 to 1969, after
which they moved back to the local area and she began her nursing
career.
Mrs. Isaman was a member of the First Church of God in Eldred and the
Overcomer’s Church of Faith in Aiken. She was a wonderful cook and
enjoyed cooking and having family gatherings. She enjoyed playing the
piano, as well as planting and gardening. She loved caring for her
grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband are, five children, Donald (Debra)
Isaman of Mooresville, N.C., Carrie (Harry) Rounsville of Smethport,
Charles (Molly) Isaman of Bradford, Melissa (Scott) Campbell of Havlock,
N.C. and Jodi (Donald) Zamberlan of Bradford; 18 grandchildren; 26
great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a brother, Steven
(Kathy) Holmes of Savona; two sisters, Alice (Bill) Liedich of East
Aurora, N.Y. and Nancy Bennett of Eldred.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother,
Francis Holmes.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday (June 30th,
2016), at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred, where funeral services will be
held at 11 a.m. on Friday with the Rev. Frank Hill officiating. Burial
will follow in Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred.

Overcomer’s Church of Faith.
