Carol J. Connolly

ELDRED — Carol J. Connolly, 80, of Newell Creek Road, passed away on Friday (June 2, 2023) at home surrounded by her family.

Born on Aug. 12, 1942, she was the daughter of David and Marion Davis Lee. On Jan. 14, 1961, in Olean, N.Y., she married Thomas “Tink” Connolly, who preceded her in death on July 24, 2017.

Carol was a 1960 graduate of Port Allegany High School. She was a lifelong resident of Newell Creek Road and was formerly employed by Corning Glass, and then retired from the former Ball InCon after 26 years.

She was a member of the Port Allegany Moose #460, The American Legion Post #887 of Eldred, Auxiliary, The Eldred VFW Post# 2092 and the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved photography, traveling on the Harley and was the head of the Liberty Majorettes in high school.  Carol also enjoyed dirt track racing and was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan. She also enjoyed working and helping to operate the family farm with her husband and family.

Surviving is one son, Duane (Missy) Connolly of Newell Creek; one daughter, Tina Connolly of Smethport; two grandchildren, Courtney Jeremias and Cody Connolly; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday (June 8, 2023) at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred, from 2 to 5 p.m. There will be a graveside service held at Lamphier Cemetery on Friday, (June 9, 2023) at 11 a.m.
