Cari A. Gross

FARMERS VALLEY — Cari Ann Gross, 53, of Valley Crossroad, passed away on Sunday (Oct. 31, 2021) at the Meadville Medical Center, following a lengthily illness. 

Born Feb. 7th, 1968, in Olean, N.Y., she was a daughter of Mark and Carol Burdick VanGorder.  On June 1st, 1986, in the Farmers Valley Mission Church, she married William Gross, who survives. 

Cari was a 1986 graduate of the Coryville Church of Faith Christian School. She was the former owner and operator of the Country Diner in Farmers Valley, as well as spending 27 years employed at Pepperell Braiding Company in Bradford.   

Mrs. Gross was a very active member of the Coleville Christian Gospel Church, where she also taught Sunday School. She loved making crafts, as well as going camping and canning. 

Surviving in addition to her husband of 35 years and her mother, Carol VanGorder of Smethport; are four siblings, Cory (Judi) VanGorder, Roger (Jackie) VanGorder, Tayna (Perry) Tanner and Mark VanGorder, all of Smethport; five brother-in-laws, Steve (Anita) Gross of Anderson, S.C., David (Hyesuk) Gross of Gainesville, Va., Bruce (Lois) Gross of Eldred, Bob (Lori) Gross of Eldred and Ron (Kristal) Gross of Smethport. 

In addition to her father who passed away in 2009, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert Gross in 1999 and Juanita Gross in 1996; and a nephew, Elijah Niklas in  2016. 

Friends may call on Wednesday (Nov. 3rd, 2021) from 4 to 7 p.m.  at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Wally Mapes and the Rev. Daniel LaPage officiating.  Burial will follow in Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred.
