Betty Jane "Pat" Hobbs Loving wife, mother and grandmother
Port Allegany- Betty Jane "Pat" Hobbs, 84, of Rte. 155, passed away Monday (March 21st, 2016) at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport following a brief illness.
Born March 25th, 1931 in Bradford, she was a daughter of Raymond S. and Esther M. Huger Lushbaugh. On July 12th, 1951 in the Port Allegany United Methodist Church, she married Norman E. Hobbs, who survives.
Betty was a 1950 graduate of Port Allegany High School. She had resided in Eldred for many years prior to moving back to Port Allegany in 1978.
She had been employed by Culver True Value, Fox’s Pizza and the Port Pharmacy.
Mrs. Hobbs was a member of the Red Hat Ladies. She loved gardening, Betty Boop and being with her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 65 years are three sons, Gary W. (Donna ) Hobbs of Eldred, Dennis O. (Cathy) Hobbs of Sevierville, Tennessee, and David E. (Karen) Hobbs of Port Allegany; seven grandchildren, Chris Hobbs, Mat Hobbs, Tammy (Dennis) Wilcox, Heather (Steve) Ellison, Brian Hobbs, Demi Hobbs, and Dax Hobbs; twelve great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, Keith Homell and Chasity Homell; and a sister, Shirley Rutz of Emporium.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
Friends may call Wednesday (March 23rd, 2016) from 4 to 8 pm at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 am with the Rev. Mike Culver officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Following the service there will be a bereavement dinner in Betty’s honor held at the Port Allegany VFW Post 0258.
