Bernard Hauber
DUKE CENTER — Bernard J. “Bernie” Hauber, 64, of Oil Valley Road, passed away on Saturday (July 11, 2015) in Roswell Park Memorial Institute in Buffalo, N.Y., following a brief illness.
He was born on May 6, 1951, in Harrison Valley, a son of Mahlon and Gladys Schultz Hauber. On Feb. 6, 1971, in Harrison Valley, he married Faye A. Robinson, who survives.
Bernie attended Northern Potter High School and had resided on Barden Brook Road, Eldred, for several years before moving to Duke Center in 1978. He was currently employed by Interstate Amicite Corp. in Lafayette as a truck driver since 2001. Previously, he had worked for Taylor and Armstrong Contracting in Eldred for 26 years.
He enjoyed, with his family, camping, hunting and fishing and attending local dirt track racing.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Pete (Yalonda) Hauber of DuBois and Cody Hauber of Duke Center; two daughters, Sherry Hauber of Bradford and Tina (Cliff) Easton of Roulette; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Gene (Pat) Hauber of Elmira, N.Y., Raymond (Gretchen) Hauber of Harrison Valley and Robert “Chip” (Monica) Hauber of North Bingham; and three sisters, Shirley Mead of Westfield, Mary Lou (Carl) VanEtten of Harrison Valley and Faye Starks of Shinglehouse.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry “Punk” Hauber in 1994.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Glen Layfield officiating. Burial will follow in Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred.
