Eldred- Antoinette S. “Peg” Johnson, 70, of Park Ave., passed away Monday (January 11th, 2016) at the Sena Kean Manor following a brief illness.
Born April 8th, 1945 in Olean, she was a daughter of Allen R. and Romayne E. Smith Fowler Jr. On October 3rd, 1964 in Coryville, she married Jim Johnson, who survives.
Peg was a of Eldred High School. She and her husband had resided in Maryland for many years prior to moving back to the Eldred area in
Mrs. Johnson was employed for 18 years as an administrative assistant for the FBI at their main office in Washington D.C.
Peg was an avid reader; she also loved animals, especially dogs and cats and most especially her cat “Wild Thing”. She also enjoyed observing wildlife. She loved following NASCAR and her favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt Sr.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 51 years are two sisters, Nancy McPherson of Oxford, Pa and Sally (Shay) Tanner of Coryville; as well as many nieces and nephews with whom she had a close relationship with.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Fowler III in 2000.
Friends may call Thursday (January 14th, 2016) at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred from 11 am to 1 pm, at which time funeral services will be held with the Rev. Jay Tennies officiating. Burial will be in Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Eldred Boro Volunteer fire Department or the Eldred Ambulance Fund.
