Alfred Cochran Jr.
ELDRED — Alfred “Butch” Cochran Jr., 67, of Edson Street, passed away peacefully at UPMC Cole in Coudersport on Wednesday (June 23, 2021) following a brief illness. 
Born Feb. 5th, 1954, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Alfred N. and Artie Bells Cochran Sr. On March 4th, 1972, he married his high school sweetheart, Deborah A. Tyler, who survives. 
Butch was a graduate of Smethport area schools. He had been employed by Case Cutlery of Bradford and the Werzalit Company of America in Bradford until his retirement. 
Mr. Cochran was a longtime member and a former vice president of the Eldred Borough Fire Department. He was also a member and former Commander of the Sons of the American Legion at the American Legion post #887 of Eldred, and was active in getting it started there. 
Butch enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, as well as relaxing in front of a campfire. He also enjoyed watching dirt track racing and was a faithful fan of the Buffalo Bills.  He loved watching his only granddaughter grow up. 
Surviving in addition to his wife of forty-nine years are three daughters, Tracy (Dale) Woodruff, Lisa (Pat) Walker and Nicole (Brian Bell) Cochran, one granddaughter, Maddi Austin, all of whom reside in Eldred; three sisters, Cheryl Rodgers of Smethport, Gloria (Bob) Galentine of Turtlepoint, and Sue (Joe) Nichols of Bradford; as well as several nieces and nephews and a few special friends that were like family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.  
At his request there will be no visitation or funeral services. There will be a celebration of life at a later date and time to be announced in a future edition.
