Eldred—John N. “Old Guy” Harvey Jr.,63, of McCrae Brook Rd., passed away suddenly in his home on Saturday (April 17th, 2021)

Born July 2nd, 1957 in Chester, Pa he was a son of John N. and Vivian Stott Harvey Sr.  On July 10th, 1976 in Bells Run Church he married Diane “Mama Harv” Worthington, who survives.

Mr. Harvey was a 1975 graduate of Oswayo Valley High School.  He had been employed for over 20 years at Todd Motor Sales in Eldred as an auto mechanic.

John’s greatest passion in life was cars and trucks, he enjoyed tinkering and working on all kinds from classic cars to race cars, and greatly enjoyed local dirt track racing with his son and especially watching his grandsons do dirt track go-kart racing.  He was quite the story teller and loved socializing and attending a good party. John was always known for having a clean ride.

John was a longtime member and commander of the Sons of the American Legion Post #887 of Eldred and was also a social member of the Pvt. Myron Burns post # 2092 Veterans of Foreign Wars of Eldred.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 45 years, are his mother of Ceres and one son, John N. (Jodi) Harvey III of Eldred; three grandsons, Zain, Bryce, and Brent Harvey; a brother, Bill (Val) Harvey of St. Petersburg, Florida; and a sister, Andrea (Ted) Canfield of Ceres; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and aunts, uncles.

Friends may call Wednesday at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Price officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sons of the American Legion Post # 887 of Eldred.
