Joan M. Lawrence, formerly of King St., died on Tuesday (Dec. 29, 2020) at Bradford Ecumenical Home.

Born in Olean, N.Y., she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Menso.

Joanie was a member of the Eldred United Methodist Church, from the time she was married there, on Sept. 11, 1948. She volunteered at the church for many years and was famously known for her excellent scalloped potatoes.

She enjoyed outdoor activities and was an avid golfer. Along with Bob and the boys, they enjoyed many outings at the Smethport Country Club.

She is survived by her two sons, Frank (Becky) Lawrence of Lansing, Mich. and Tom (Terri) Lawrence of Houston, Texas; and a grandson, Kevin Lawrence of Houston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; two sisters; and husband, Robert Lawrence.

At her request, there will be only a graveside service. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Eldred.

The family wishes to thank the staffs of Chapel Ridge, and Bradford Ecumenical Home, for the excellent care our mother received during her times there. And to the many residents of Eldred who looked after Mom and Dad, we sincerely thank you!

Joanie requested memorials be made to the Eldred United Methodist Church, 24 S. Main St., Eldred, PA. 16731.

Frank and Tom and Family, we are so sorry for your loss, as you are so much aware your parents were so helpful to us when we moved to Eldred to teach and coach at O-E. The picture in my mind of the four of you on the first tee at Smethport CC. is one of the many special times we witnessed of a first class family. We are so thankful for their lives. God Blessings and stay healthy.
