Gordy loved working in his scrapyard, cooking, eating, playing cards and watching western and cowboy movies. He had also enjoyed operating a garage sale at his residence for many years.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons, William (Vera) Taylor of Little Genesee, N.Y. and Gordon B. (Nancy) Taylor of Eldred; four daughters, Penny Taylor of Brighton, N.Y., Tammy (William) Slater Jr. of Shinglehouse, Tricia (Mark) Olmstead of Shinglehouse and Tawny Taylor of Olean; a stepson, Joseph L.
